This was the 4th time recording with my gear. Ratt opened for queensryche this the night. This was recorded from Row 6 seat 1, rightside facing the stage. Overall i am happy with the outcome of this recording besides the fact that i messed with the recording lvls in the beginning of Best I Can and also accidently hit pause for a sec around 1:13 into the song. Thanks goes out to brad for transfering my master DAT.

Geoff Tate - vocals, saxophone
Michael Wilton - guitar
Eddie Jackson - bass, back-up vocals
Scott Rockenfield - percussion
Parker Lundgren - guitar
Emily Tate - vocals on "Home Again"
Jason Ames - keyboards, 3rd guitar, back-up vocals, second lead vocals on "A Dead Man's Words"
A.J. Fratto - Drill Sergeant vocals in "Sliver"
Tapers notes:Recorded by Hurricane62 from the balcony level, directly above the soundboard. Crowd noise is at a minimum thanks to the CMC-2 cardioids and the fact that I was well elevated above the GA crowd on the main floor, "on the rail" with an unobstructed view of the stage.
Another excellent show. There was a huge, but somewhat subdued crowd in attendance. The format for these shows is a 3-suite, 2+ hour production of tracks from "Rage For Order", "American Soldier", and "Empire". There are two setlists that are alternated night-to-night. This performance is setlist "B".
This recording is meant to be combined with "Invading Minnesota 05.02.2009-05.03.2009[Part 2]" from Walker, MN the following night.

Tapers notes:Recorded by Hurricane62 from the 4th row, right-center. Crowd noise is not too bad in spite of being tucked back in among a crowd that never sat down. I owe this to my CMC-2 cardioids. Those of you still using Zoom H2's and H4's need to invest in some external mics - you won't believe how much better your recordings will be.
Another excellent show - and my last one on this leg of the tour. The crowd at Walker, MN was probably the most enthusiastic of the four shows that I attended. The format for these shows is a 3-suite, 2+ hour production of tracks from "Rage For Order", "American Soldier", and "Empire". There are two setlists that are alternated night-to-night. This recording is setlist "A".

I was very pleased with how this recording turned out. These mics have given me fits before but not this time. They worked great and didn't pick up the chatter/screaming nearby! Very good performance by the band, but the three songs with Lita Ford were a serious momentum killer. Regardless, it was great to see them again and especially in such an intimate setting. Too bad they cut out a couple of tunes from the Empire suite this time. Enjoy!

Hi kids. Here is the Halloween edition of the current Queensryche show 2009, with special guest Lita Ford.
I waited until almost last minute (2 days before) to get my ticket, but wound up with 4th row in the pit!
I wasn't sure this was going to turn out at all, cos when I got to my seat at 7:30, there was a drunken tool already
hammered beyond belief. This guy needed a usher to get back to his seat, that's how messed up he already was! He
was tossed after about 1.5 hours, which was far too long to put up with him. You get to hear him bitch about something
during one of Geoff's speaking parts, as he did this right behind me.
The show rocked, especially being that close to the action. I think I wore my camera out taking a shit load of pix.
The included artwork are of my pix.
Nothing was done to this recording, no normallizing or eq'ing, just fades at start & end, and tracking to the setlist.
One of my buds that works at The Pageant gave me a setlist, which had One & Only on it, but wasn't played. I was able
to have Lita sign that outside after the show. I guess since she was added this time around, they chopped off some
Empire songs, which sucks, but what are you gonna do?

Not sure why the band was back again after playing in NM less than 8 months ago. The ads for the show advertised it as a caberet show, but it was a regular concert. I recorded this show with 2 sources, but the rec 1 was not used as I had use a low cut filter on the SONY PCM-M10 and it took off a lot. The recording is still available if anyone needs it. Queensryche is getting the reputation of being a house band because they play here so often.

PREPARING THE RECORDING
I recorded this standing in a full theatre, from the first steps, at the
right side of the venue. About 15 meters from the stage. It was very crowded
and some talking is inevitable. Apart from a slight dispute with a guy that
came to stand in front of me at the end of 'Evermore', there is only the usual
'wow'-ing. Sound is quite direct with a nice punch.
Because of the length I had to put the last Whirlwind track on disc 2. To
ensure full enjoyment of playback I used no fading. The same goes for splitting
disc 2 and 3. I was just in time to record the extra encore, for I had already
put my gear away. Sound of that one is different, because I was more to the center
and the were less people around me.
I only had to brigten up the higer frequencies a bit.
Tracks were slightly EQ-ed and volume was corrected. I use no compression so the
dynamics stay in tact. After correction, tracks were split at sector boundaries.

Can you handle over three hours of prog? Then this is the perfect gig!
Transatlantic is bringing the Wirld Tour to Tilburg. About nine years
ago they came to Tilburg to record a live dvd. They all remembered that
night and the surely will remember this one! This band plays solid prog.
The complete Whirlwind and all their classics were played. Just minor
flaws in playing and a perfect and tight sounding band. And the best audience!
After the encore the audience kept on screaming and the unexpected happened,
they returned for a second encore: The Return Of The Giant Hogweed. This
gave me the inspiration for the title. For Transatlantic is a real progbeast.
Their return to Tilburg will be in my memory forever. And this recording will
support that memory. Enjoy Transatlantic in top form.

Flacs are tagged for convenient playback on compatible systems.

Taper's Notes:
The first set was the Whirlwind cd in its entirety. I tracked it at breaks into 5 tracks, A B C D and the
named Dancing With Eternal Glory, Reprise in the 5th track. Tracks T1 through T4 will fit on 1 cd. Then if
your trying to cosoldate the music, T05 throughT08 for cd 2 with T09 and T10 on the final 3rd cd.
Personaly I will be burnig the 2cd set (T06 through T10 ) on 2 cds .
My position was on the stage barracade ,center. This gave an excellent recording with little to no chatter.
The mix problems the band had in the first set are reflected in the recording , but by the second set the
sound was great. Very little tweaking was needed, a volume adjustment and some fade ins, outs were
done.
My favorite portion is the second set, an amazing performance, high energy and well executed.
This is SHN encoded , sorry if that's a bit old fashioned , I understand TLH will convert SHN to FLAC if
needed.
Enjoy and please don't remaster for other than your own pleasure.

Night 1 of the 2010 Whirled Tour - the premiere of The Whirlwind!! There's a little bit of Jeff Beck's "Freeway Jam" in "On the Prowl" in honor of the fact that he was playing in town the same night at the Nokia Theatre. This was one of the best prog shows I have ever seen! Just a few minutes shy of 3 full hours, not including the intermission. CalProg rules! FYI, a copy of this show will be sent to Roine Stolt on CD-R in order to comply with Flower Kings taping rules.

Tapers Notes: This performance was recorded from the audience with Core Sound High End Binaural mics and a Sony PCM-M1 desk. It was then transferred from a Sony PCM-R500 professional DAT deck through an Opcode SonicPort to a PC running Cool Edit Pro. Indexing was done with CDWav. The original sound of the recording has not been altered.
Info taken from back cover - covers included. SHN->FLAC by SkUnKaDeLiC. I convert all of my SHN shows to FLAC to save disk space and because .FLAC files play on my XBOX's HDD via Xbox Media Center, and take up less space on my HD :). -Sk.

-Sk.

A very good audience recording which is interesting because it includes the
long version of Even Less (with different lyrics) and a couple of other
tracks from Stupid Dream prior to release.
An excellent sounding audience recording. The only flaws are the transitions
between "Waiting - Phase 1" and Waiting - Phase 2" (slight level drop) and between
"Dislocated Day" and "Radioactive Toy"
