Notes:
This was the second out of the three times I was to see DT and Maiden that week. Temperatures were unbearable the whole week, mid 40s, and especially that very day, hence the name I chose for this boot.
A technical problem with the PA system occured during "As I Am". Mike entertained the crowd with some soloing and later by playing a few bars off of "Run To The Hills" while the crowd sang along, which made the show even more memorable. Good energy from both the band and the crowd.
This recording was made for fans by fans. Trade freely, don't buy or sell, or convert to lossy formats, unless for personal use.
It also goes out to Mike for all that he's given and given up to and for the fans.
Support the band by seeing them perform live, and by purchasing their official releases.
Enjoy!

I was somewhat familar with The Masters Of Reality as I did have the s/t cd....and I was told Ginger Baker was drumming for them on this tour! I also was added to the guest list after Spot made a call or two! So here is the fruits of his efforts to get me to go....... there couldn't have been more than 50 people there but it still rocked!
Enjoy!

For those of you who don't already know, Chris Goss is arguably the unofficial godfather of stoner rock - and Masters Of Reality was his glorious vehicle that started the scene. This is a nice set that includes every single song that was on the original Def American release of their self titled album, also known to some as "The Blue Garden". It's as big a blues-rock riff fest as you could ask for and one of the best albums top to bottom that no one knows about. It's also a bit rare to see any Masters shows containing this original lineup as it changed up significantly by the time they hit the road the next year. This one's a trade from back in the heyday. Originally FM but unknown generation by the time it made it to me. Check the sample and cast your vote accordingly. Enjoy.
Trade Only. Support the artists in all their endeavors.

Here's another uncommom band and uncirculated show from the vault for you folks - a sweet set of psych-blues-rock from Masters Of Reality. I think these guys were really undervalued during what should have been their heyday. Most of this set comes from their self titled album. People, let me tell you, it rawks. I remember hearing it for the first time and being struck by the Cream influence, something that wasn't exactly commonplace in the hair metal wasteland of the late 80's. That influence was validated when Chris Goss tapped Ginger Baker to drum on the 1990 club tour. If you're unfamiliar with the first record you need it. Your 'Ol Uncle Doodee would never steer you wrong. Enjoy.

Great show, great setlist and great sound! That is what this recording is about. I was at this show. A few memorable moments for me were the opening song Metropolis Part 1, Another Day with a Dutch clarinet player and the closing song A Change of Seasons in its intirety.
I think the one who taped the show is called the Dark Shadow. What a great job this taper did! And the artwork is extremely nice too.

There are many Pink Floyd RoIOs out there. Most of them are audience recordings
and pretty diffcult to listen to. This one, however, has to be the best audience

IMHO. If your a Floyd fan, don't miss this one!

The Digital Dan Review:
An incredible audience show from the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California
on April 26, 1975. This is the complete master tape source, so complete that
you here the taper testing the mics as the show starts. The sound is nothing
short of astounding. Incredibly clear and quite devoid of almost any fan noise.
The bass is well captured, deep and powerful with no distortion whatsoever. The
highs are also very crisp and not the least bit of harshness. In other words,
the mix is just about perfect as if it were a soundboard. I think I have a good
idea who taped this show and it explains a lot. There are a few things that make
this recording truly unique. First, the pre-release versions of Sheep (Raving
and Drooling) and Dogs (You Gotta Be Crazy). Raving and Drooling is much
different instrumentally during the jam sections than is the album version,
including some rhythm guitar that sounds like disco-funk! The lyrics to You
Gotta Be Crazy are quite different from the album version of Dogs. Even Roger
calls it a rather "mean" song. "Any Colour You Like" is the great jam version
and this is the last tour with performances of "Echoes" in its entirety. All
and all this recording is absolutely amazing for its age and one that you will
definitely want in your collection.

This recording is from a tour with King's X and Joe Satriani. Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, to my opinion one of the (many) highlights in Dream Theater's history, is fully played. The sound quality is more than acceptable I think.
I do not know if this recording was ever released as a bootleg. The recording time does not correspond with the three mentioned at Ytsecollection.com. Therefore I have no artwork for this one.

Tapers Notes:
Another "Intimate Evening with Dream Theater", with a setlist almost identical to Stained Glass. I love these type of shows, not only for the rarely-played songs but for the candid, laid-back chatter (at one point James says, "Just so you know, we're NOT playing "Take the Time" tonight, so stop screaming for it!") There are two other shows like this, recorded a day before and 2 days after this gig, but this one has the best sound quality of the three (A/A+ audience.) Live at Irving Plaza has some extra songs, though...
Of prime interest are the two cover songs, Led Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" (nice!!) and Rush's "Different Strings", which ends with a medley of "Analog Kid" and "La Villa Strangiato" (plus a snippet of "Cygnus X-1" at the start.) There's also a rare rendition of "Hell's Kitchen", a short, impromptu jam of Led Zep's "Rock and Roll" and Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" at the end of "Hollow Years", and a surprise return of NIGHTMARE CINEMA on "Perfect Strangers"! Man, I gotta get my ass to one of these "Home for the Holidays" shows someday...if only they didn't always play them in NYC/NJ/Philly in the DEAD OF FUCKING WINTER...

SHOW NOTES- 30 MINUTES BEFORE PT WERE DUE ON, WE WERE ENJOYING THE THIRD HOT, SUNNY DAY OF DOWNLOAD 2010.. IN THAT HALF HOUR, EVERYTHING CHANGED AND IT WAS THROWING IT DOWN DURING THE STAGE SET UP THEN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SET. PLENTY OF PT FANS ON HAND AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO BRAVED THE RAIN SEEMED WELL INTO IT TOO.
HARDLY IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR RECORDING-MICS TUCKED INSIDE SHIRT, HOODIE ZIPPED UP TO COVER EVERYTHING- I HONESTLY DIDN'T EXPECT TO GET ANYTHING ANYWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS IT'S TURNED OUT. UNDER IDEAL OUTDOOR CIRCUMSTANCES, I'D HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH THIS, TAKING EVERYTHING ELSE INTO ACCOUNT- IT'S ALMOST A MIRACLE!!

Finally. Almost full show, excluding Halo. Announcer talks over couple of song starts but otherwise it's excellent quality and worth of grab. Just for the full Anesthetize, if nothing else!
